Measuring Guide

How to measure your horse for a snaffle bridle

Before You Measure A Horse for a Snaffle Bridle:

  • You will need a flexible measuring tape
  • Make sure your bridle is done up on the correct holes with the bits you will be using. Bits can radically change the size of bridle you require
  • Measure your already assembled bridle - no need to disassemble and make flat


Measuring A Horse for a Snaffle Bridle:

  1. Take the tape and measure from top of the bit over the crown to the top of the bit on the other side.
  2. Measure the browband from end to end
  3. Measure the circumference of the noseband. Do it up on the hole it is normally done up on. Start at the buckle and measure on the outside of the noseband around the circumference back to the buckle.

This Black Snaffle Bridle features a 2 Row Crystal V Browband and Anatomical Raised Plain Hanoverian Crank Noseband.

Our black leather monocrown schooling bridle is perfect for home or competition use. As our entry level bridle, it provides a super affordable bridle without sacrificing on quality. 

Our schooling bridles are hand made from the highest quality buffalo leather. This leather provides a cheaper alternative to the traditional English leather used in our other ranges while still being high quality and hard wearing. Padded for comfort over the headpiece and noseband. With a monocrown headpiece for greater adjustability and comfort.

With stainless steel hardware and buckled cheek pieces and reins. Headpiece, browbands and nosebands are padded with neoprene for comfort. 

This bridle does not include reins.
